Developmental Editing

Developmental editing is dedicated to helping you uncover the “story beneath the story” by drawing attention to core themes, metaphors, insights, and opportunities for deepening & expansion. I provide edits on full manuscripts, and batches of 30-50 pages at a time. I also provide developmental editing services for short stories, essays, or other short works. Feedback is provided in the form of margin comments, an extensive summary letter, and 1-on-1 conversation (if desired). You can read more information here.

Creative Coaching

Creative coaching is for anyone who is seeking support, accountability, and guidance around a particular project, or the process of creating more generally. Coaching takes the form of ongoing 1-on-1 meetings, in which we might (among other things) discuss the evolving project, create a custom-made work and accountability plan, close-read a few of pages at a time, tackle any creative obstacles that come up, and generate tailored prompts and assignments to help you expand and find new possibilities. Coaching is a great match for writers who want a “plan” or just plain-old accountability around their writing, love talking-out their creative ideas and challenges, are seeking feedback on a few pages at a time, and are seeking a witness to support them throughout the process. Coaching is strongly recommended for editing clients seeking support throughout the revision process.

I am currently offering coaching packages of 4-8 sessions, along with editing discounts for coaching clients.
